DIVINE MANIFESTATIONS

DIVINE  MANIFESTATIONS
HOLY  SCRIPTURE:
“Amen, amen, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he also shall do, and greater than these shall he do … he that loves me, shall be loved by my Father; and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him.”                            John 14: 12, 21.

Soisson, FRANCE, 1115   On Easter Sunday a good and pious mother took her young child to church to receive Holy Communion, for it was still the custom to give the Blessed Eucharist to the little innocent children who were brought by their their parents to the Holy sacrifice.  The child, too young as yet to understand the holy rites, gazed at the altar with curiosity.

Suddenly at the moment of Consecration the child exclaimed: “ O mother, look how beautiful is the little child in the priest’s hands.” It was quite visible that the child was attracted by something unusual and peculiar.

The mother saw nothing and tried to quieten her child from shouting and disturbing, but the child repeated the same words aloud. Finally when the priest placed the Host on the altar and covered it with the corporal, the child cried out again in a loud voice: “Look, mother, the priest is hiding it with the cloth.”

The scene produced a profound impression on the people. The holy Abbot who was saying Mass told them that innocence can see the wonders of God, they have a special light unknown to those who have lost their innocence.

A similar event took place in a church at Angers in 1182.  A little innocent boy saw a beautiful child in place of the Host, and cried out to the congregation: “Come and see God.” But no know could see anything… except the innocent boy.

In the Chronicles of Vezelay and Tours, in 1116 we find another supernatural incident: A priest was celebrating Mass at the Abbey church of Deols, in Berry, when suddenly the assistants saw on the altar a little child standing before the chalice, in place of the Host.

At Fecamp, in Normandy, in 1182, a priest of great sanctity was celebrating Mass on the anniversary of the Church’s Dedication to the Blessed Trinity.. At the moment of Holy Communion, the Host in the hands of the holy priest changed into a beautiful child. The priest made a sign to the deacon to attract the attention of the Bishop who was present at this ceremony. The Bishop ordered that this miraculous Host be transported to a tabernacle  where it was preserved for many years.

PRAYER:
“Yes, my Lord, my God, You are my life, and now I fully understand that to live far away from You, means not to live at all … but sadly to pine away and die.”
