THE HOLY SPIRIT  AND                               THE  WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT                  1/

1. The Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).
2. The Spirit guides us into all truth (John 16:13).
3. The Spirit regenerates us (John 3:5-8; Titus 3:5).
4. The Spirit glorifies and testifies of Christ (John 15:26; 16:14).
 5. The Spirit reveals Christ to us and in us (John 16:14-15). “The Holy Spirit unites us to Jesus Christ and to His body,” writes Viola. Additionally:

6. The Spirit leads us (Rom. 8:14; Gal. 5:18; Matt. 4:1; Luke 4:1).
 7.The Spirit sanctifies us (2 Thess. 2:13; 1 Pet. 1:2; Rom. 5:16).
 8. The Spirit empowers us (Luke 4:14; 24:49; Rom. 15:19; Acts 1:8).
9. The Spirit fills us (Eph. 5:18; Acts 2:4; 4:8, 31; 9:17).
10. The Spirit teaches us to pray (Rom. 8:26-27; Jude 1:20).
11. The Spirit bears witness in us that we are children of God (Rom. 8:16).

12. The Spirit produces in us the fruit or evidence of His work and presence (Gal. 5:22-23). “The Spirit reveals Christ to us, gives us His life, and makes Christ alive in us,” writes Viola. “The Spirit takes the experiences of Jesus ... His incarnation, ministry, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension ... and brings them into our own experience. Additionally,
 13. The Spirit distributes spiritual gifts and manifestations (the outshining) of His presence to and through the body (1 Cor.12:4, 8-10; Heb. 2:4).

14. The Spirit anoints us for ministry (Luke 4:18; Acts 10:38).
15. The Spirit washes and renews us (Titus 3:5).
16. The Spirit brings unity and oneness to the body (Eph. 4:3; 2:14-18).
That means the Spirit plays the same role that He plays in the Godhead. The Spirit is the life that unites Father and Son. The Spirit plays the same role in the church. When the Spirit is operating in a group of people, He unites them in love. Therefore, a sure evidence of the Holy Spirit working in a group is Love and Unity. SPIRITUAL GUIDELINES

When one hears words against holiness or some sinfully ambiguous words, and smiles at them, one would not only be approving the evil uttered, but also encouraging the speaker to repeat that evil. Human respect is highly to be abhorred.

Alas for those people who want to know everything, who want to see everything, who want to experience everything! One needs to restrain one's curiosity, for curiosity tends of itself to make unhappy those people who satisfy it.

In order to preserve and foster in us the virtue of purity and the holiness of our body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit, * we need to constantly take the precautionary measures, such as the restraint of our eyes and our recourse to prayer. God will destroy anyone who stains one's own body, as St. Paul writes in 1 Corinth.3.17.

It is not enough for you to possess a good knowledge of things. Unless you practise what you know, your knowledge will condemn you. As soon as you die, all your deeds, good and bad, will follow you, and these will bear witness for or against you before the tremendous Divine tribunal. So, beware of what could be in store for you.

All that has been destined by God must needs come to pass. For God created everything for Himself. The past and the future are present to Him. Consequently, our task is to humble ourselves before Him, to adore His judgements, and to surrender ourselves into His embrace.

The lots of fortune are all collected into one lap, but only those are drawn which God decides. Nothing happens haphazardly. Everything is governed by the Wisdom and Providence of God. Let us then resign ourselves to what happens to us. Let us always be pleased with what happens to us.

*Because the human body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit, the Catholic Church incenses the remains, the dead body dring Funeral Services.

Novena Day 5:

"Then, he took a young child, placed it in their midst, and putting His arms around it, He said to them:"Whoever welcomes a child such as this in My Name, welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me, welcomes not Me but The One who sent me."
(Mark 9:36,37)

Reflection: Lord Jesus, You told us to welcome each child and no wonder You did! Look at that child. Isn't he beautiful? His smile reflects Your Love  and surely it fills his parents with joy! Lord Jesus, statistics show us though that depending on the country, 92-98% of children resulting positive for down syndrome while in the womb aren'twelcomed. Everyday, parents who would otherwise have loved their child, upon learning that he/she has down syndrome are choosing to abort.

Lord Jesus, instead of choosing to welcome and love and care for these children, we're killing them because of this condition. We're killing other children too because of "disability" when really it's us who are disabled for we are the ones refusing to welcome, see and love them, these, Your precious little ones.

Today, offer a prayer or sacrifice for the protection the unborn infantswho have tested positive for a condition or disability to stand up for all children, no less the little ones who have special needs.

 Prayer:
God and Father of Life, You have created every human person, and have opened the way for each to have eternal life. We live in the shadow of death. Tens of millions of your children have been killed because of the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion. Father, have mercy on us, Heal our world accept our offering of prayer and penance. In Your love for us, Turn back the scourge of abortion.

May each of us exult in hearts full of hope and hands full of mercyand work together to build a culture of life. We pray through Christ our Lord, Amen.

(This prayer is from the Priests for Life website,  May God continue to bless us through their work for life!)
