I WALK IN THE SHADOW OF CHRIST

I must thank all those dear friends; some known to me, others never knew them except for today, who wrote to wish me a Blessed and Happy Birthday. I thank each and every one , but mostly, the Good Lord for giving me the Light to find the Way and to embrace the Truth. I did try to answer each and everyone, but I might have, inadvertently, missed out some from the numerous (3 digits) well-wishers. So I am dedicating these ‘Thoughts’ to each and every one, and may God bless us all and embrace us with His Love.
My Belief in life / My Credo

Do good, keep smiling, spread the Word of God, ride the storm but always, walk in His shadow. Whilst walking in the shadow of Christ you realise that it is a shadow full of light, full of warmth, full of peace. For, it is not the type of ‘shadow’ nor the type of light’, neither the type of ‘warmth’ and not even the type of ‘peace’ which we experience in our life on earth.

Though you might be surrounded by problems, by all types of injustice, notwithstanding that you might be living under an overcast sky with threatening black clouds, expecting the enemy to surprise you in an ambush, YET, whilst walking in the ‘shadow’ of Christ, this threatening atmosphere seems to resolve itself, as being threats that cannot harm you, whilst being conscious of them.

We read in the writings of Polycarp, that the martyrs, including him, though they were thrown into a furnace of fire, yet, instead of being consumed as burning wood, they seemed to turn into loaves of bread; that is bread to feed and sustain their followers, and a sweet smell of baking emanated from the fire of their purification.

Walking in the ‘shadow of Christ’ means following closely in His footsteps; knowing that He is on the right track … and so are you, knowing that He knows each nook and corner, each and every turning … and you follow blinfoldedly. What a sure, trusted Guide is Jesus. Just like a Father or a loving Mother holding your tiny hand and leading you ‘home’, where you find trust, warmth, peace, love and all that the human heart desires.

Yes, keep smiling, why not … are we not the ‘Easter people’ are we not the followers and inheritors of the ‘Good News’. Have you ever heard of anyone, on receiving some Good News, puts on a miserable look ? No, if we really, convincingly are the ‘Good News’ followers, we must keep smiling, irrespective of what goes on around us in this world, we keep on smiling. For though we are in the world, BUT we are not of the world.

May we all meet in Heaven.
