THE DANGERS AND PITFALLS IN THE FACEBOOKS

I find a strong parallel between administrators and contributors of facebooks and … teachers, priests, lecturers, speakers. Speaking for myself, the one and only aim in contributing, posting on the Facebook is to spread the Word of God, the Teachings of the Church, the enlightment from the Lives of Saints, Guidelines for Salvation.

As I write this, I consider and think: how genuine in their apostolate are those administrators and contributors who fall into the trap of self-satisfaction, self-gratification; counting the LIKES to their postings, or go as far as drawing a graph to show the popularity of their facebook, sort of ours is the best, ours is the most looked into and read, our facebook presents the best picture, the best layout, the best postings.

I heartily thank God WHEN HIS word is read; be it by one person or by hundreds. The important thing is that HIS message is passing through… and most important is the fact that no one can say when that posting can have its effect on a single person.

Yes, I believe that when God wants HE can make a person read a posting, maybe written months and months ago and make him see the light. Glory be to God for all eternity when these things take place, happen … AND they DO happen… experience has proved me right.

BUT it’s no merit of mine … maybe a very tiny, microscopic merit, maybe, if any. The merit goes totally, completely to GOD, because whatever HE wills will be done “in HIS own good time.”

Please, I entreat you, dear bothers and sisters in Christ, do refrain from trying to give the impression that the apostolate of Jesus Christ is now being put up for competition; who is the best … the priests, the laymen, the nuns, the Franciscans, the Dominicans, this facebook, that facebook… With all due respect it’s all RUBBISH.

We do not need to ask such a question. We know the answer before the  question is asked.  JESUS CHRIST is the answer, the BEST. Whoever writes, posts on a Catholic facebook is just a mouthpiece for JESUS CHRIST.

I ask you in the name of our Master and Lord Jesus Christ, strike OFF the graphs and ‘stats’. Just spread the Word of God and let HIM, in His own good time, draw sons and daughters to His loving heart.

I  WOULD APPRECIATE BEING COMPLETELY STRUCK OFF FOR GOOD FROM ALL THOSE FACEBOOKS WHICH ARE AFTER COMPETITION OF PRIDE AND SELF-GRATIFICATION.  I WOULD NOT LIKE TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH SUCH PROFANITY.
