FOR MY LIFE
When you catch yourself thinking or speaking or
acting in a self-seeking way, bear in mind that in this case you are not
serving God, but yourself. Ponder well on Christ's words that
"whoever loves his life will lose it". (Mt.16.25)
Be assured that every thought that worries you
does not come from God, for God is a God of peace. It would be
coming either from the devil or, from our nature, two
sources of wickedness. Consequently, chase that
thought away quickly,
for if you linger on it, it will certainly bring you grief.
No one can be saved without having a true
devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for Christ told us that
if we do not forgive others, neither will God forgive us, and
that we cannot enter the
kingdom of heaven if we do not become like little children.You have a true
devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus if you imitate this Heart,which is truly
meek and humble.
If unfortunately you happen to give your consent
to a mortal sin, go and receive the sacramental absolution as quickly as possible.
This is because death can happen any moment, and also because of the fact
that the good works we perform when we are in a state of sin have no
merit.
Fix in your mind that exercise in self-denial
and patience, does not avail you for your salvation, if you
do not persevere to the end. God promises the reward to
whosoever starts well,
but he gives it only to the one who finishes well.
