THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

The Lord is my Shepherd        5 (conclusion).
The only thing left is, to apply this Psalm, 23, commonly known as  “The Lord is my Shepherd”,  to our personal way of life. Needless to say, Jesus is the Good Shepherd, He had to come to earth because Israel was full of shepherds then, shepherds with a small ‘s’, as most of them were BAD shepherds, they were hirelings.

What happened to the Good Shepherds ? If we read and study the Holy Scripture, we shall know what happened to them. Almost ALL of them were killed, martyred…we know of the Parable when the Master sent word with his servants who were put to death, ultimately he had to send his own son…with the result that even his son was killed.

Now that was not the sole case of Israel in the days of Jesus. The self same thing is happening NOW, in the year 2012…it has been happening throughout History. Hirelings still exist. Read or listen in to the News, and you will know what is happening all round the world.

We know that the last two Popes; John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have asked pardon in the name of the Church, for mistakes committed. Simply because ‘hirelings’ keep on existing till the day when Satan will be completely vanquished, conquered, once and for all…till that day come, hirelings will  always be on the prowl.

But even if we find ourselves in the Valley of Darkness we shall not fear, for The Good Shepherd is with us, HE is walking right beside us, at times, when HE is not walking close to us…because HE has a reason… because HE will be carrying us in His arms, just like a Good Shepherd does.

Why should we fear? Fear means lack of Faith. We never feared when as kids we trusted Mum or Dad, we were dead sure that they are always there to love us, to watch over us, to provide for us…even during the dark nights. If we want to be sure of Salvation, let us become kids again, innocent children with complete, total, absolute TRUST in our Father, because HE is our Shepherd… and we shall not want. May we ALL remain in the same fold led by Jesus, the GOOD SHEPHERD.
